Who are we? Right now we are four students currently working in the Masters of Library and Information Science program at San Jose State University (Go Spartans!)
We come from all different backgrounds across the United States – and one of the biggest things we each have in common is our passion for libraries. Some of us work in school libraries, some academic, and some public. We are passionate about exploring the different ways libraries can be used as vehicles of knowledge, and as places where children (and adults) can build community, and learn to love the art of reading.
Our first series on this site is all about how we, as current and future librarians, can help to increase literacy rates in low-income (Title 1) schools.
We are passionate about promoting all kinds of literacy through school and public libraries, and hope to take the knowledge we learn and apply it into our future workplaces. We can’t wait to share what we learn with you!
